While the Bear Island property does have a cabin where a few people can sleep (it has three beds), it's not really set up for year-round habitation (by people; there is plenty of wildlife in the area).

Even though there's no electrical grid or water systems in the area, Starlink is available in the area.

Along with being a recreational option in the warmer months, there's also a small apiary on the island for fans of bees. The honey has been sold as .
