SUDBURY — A 36-year-old man in Sudbury, Ont., has been charged with first-degree murder in what police describe as an incident related to intimate partner violence.
Police say they were called to a home at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and found an injured 32-year-old woman outside.
Inside the home, they say officers found a 63-year-old woman who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times.
Police say the older woman died at the scene. Two children found inside the home were not injured.
Investigators say the suspect took off once they arrived but was found in a wooded area at around 11:30 a.m., with injuries that appeared self-inflicted.
The suspect is also charged with attempting murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement and choking.
Police say he's been taken to hospital for medical treatment and remains in custody.
