Although it may seem everyone in your office and family is sick, officially there have been no reported cases of the flu in 撸奶社区this year.
Dr. Paul Martiquet, medical officer for the Sea to Sky area, said normally at this time of year there would have been a few reported cases in Squamish, but there have been none thus far.
"Knock on wood," he said.
Martiquet said the lack of influenza in 撸奶社区means people are taking the precautions necessary to prevent catching the virus.
"People are washing their hands, getting flu shots and taking good hygienic precautions in terms of sneezing, coughing and blowing their noses," he said.
However, 撸奶社区is not out of the woods yet with the flu season to continue on until the spring.
Martiquet said he expects 撸奶社区to have some flu cases later on in the year. Powell River has nine reported cases, while Sechelt and Gibsons have two and one reported cases respectively.
So far the whole Sea to Sky corridor including, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton is flu free.
