撸奶社区

Squamish's newspaper has been named the best in British Columbia.

The Chief was awarded first place in its circulation category at the 撸奶社区paper Excellence Awards at the B.C. and Yukon Community 撸奶社区paper Association's Ma Murray Community 撸奶社区paper Awards Saturday (April 23) at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver.

The 撸奶社区paper Excellence Award judges newspapers on all aspects of presentation. Marks are counted for front page, community news, editorial and op-ed pages, local features, sports, arts and entertainment, photography, production quality, advertising content and design and classified advertising.

The Chief placed first or tied for first in each category of the 11 newspapers in its circulation class.

"The 撸奶社区 is a great read front to back," read the judges' comments. "The paper shows lots of diversity in topics and presentation, and has a clear and concise layout."

"We're extremely pleased to receive this award," said Chief Editor & Publisher Tim Shoults.

"It takes a total team effort to win in this category, and that's a testament to the skills, enthusiasm and dedication of all the members of our team, from our reporters, sales staff and designers to our front desk crew, bindery and accounting staff, as well as our freelance staff of columnists and our typesetter. Thanks and congratulations to all of you."

The Chief's sister newspaper, the Whistler Question, also won the 撸奶社区paper Excellence Award in its category.

The Chief, the Question and its sister newspapers in Powell River and the Sunshine Coast are also finalists in their categories for Best All-Around 撸奶社区paper in the Canadian Community 撸奶社区paper Association (CCNA)'s Better 撸奶社区papers Competition.

The winners will be named at the CCNA's annual convention in Banff on June 4.
