Woodfibre LNG gives $40,000 in charitable grants

Woodfibre LNG awarded over $40,000 in grants to 撸奶社区charity groups on Dec. 10 as part of its .

Ten grants were given during a ceremony at the 撸奶社区Adventure Centre.

鈥淪ince 2013, we are pleased to have contributed over $1 million to local charities and groups,鈥 said David Keane, president of Woodfibre LNG, in a news release.

At the event, over $40,000 in grants were presented to:

1. 脠cole 撸奶社区Elementary: $5,000 for the creation of an outdoor learning and play area.

2. 4th 撸奶社区Scout Group: $5,000 to replace worn out tents, stoves, camping and safety equipment.

3. 撸奶社区Minor Hockey Association: $3,500 to go towards their rebranding, which includes a new logo design commissioned by 撸奶社区Nation artist Cory Douglas.

4. Skate Sea2Sky Club: $3,500 for their AV and performance equipment that will be used for the Christmas show happening this week, and to support other performances by the Club and other non-profit groups in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

5. Big Brothers Big Sisters Sea to Sky Corridor: $5,000 to help with the expansion of the Game On! Program to the 撸奶社区area. Game On! is a recreational, group mentorship program which provides children aged 10-14 with information and support needed to make informed choices about healthy lifestyle practices.

6. The Nature Trust of British Columbia: $5,000 to conduct a series of shoreline clean up events involving community groups, volunteers and Conservation Youth Crew members.

7. Camp My Way: $5,000 to cover the cost of bringing a First Responder and their spouse who are struggling with PTSD, in need of tools, routine and support to a seven-day program.

8. 撸奶社区Search and Rescue Society: $4,850 that will be used in implementing an Advanced Medical Direction Program focusing on integrating physicians within their team of volunteers.

9. Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station Four Squamish: $5,000 for the refit of a vessel.

10. 撸奶社区Chamber of Commerce: $3,000 for the development of the 撸奶社区Youth Chamber, aiming to prepare and engage young people of the community
