There have been bright spots amidst an unprecedented act of suspected sabotage.
Following the indefinite closure of the Sea to Sky Gondola, the company declared that it would donate its perishable food items to the 撸奶社区Food Bank.
On Aug. 15, they made good on that promise.
鈥淭he produce from the Sea To Sky Gondola has been delivered and distributed to the people and organizations in our community that need it most - none of it has gone to waste,鈥� announced the 撸奶社区Food Bank on social media.
Days ago, the bank expressed its sympathies for the gondola and its staff.
鈥淥ur heart goes out to all at the Sea To Sky Gondola this week,鈥� reads a statement made on Facebook.
鈥淎s they come to terms with what has happened, the team are working hard to find a home for all of their perishable food so it does not go to waste. Thanks to donations from the Sea To Sky Gondola we will have lots of fresh produce that we will be distributing at the 撸奶社区Food Bank.鈥�
The food bank wasn't the only one to receive a donation from the gondola.
撸奶社区Helping Hands announced that the company also gave produce to be used in the society's soup kitchen.
On Aug. 10, it was found the gondola鈥檚 cable was cut, causing many of its cabins to fall. The company reported up to 20 replacements will be needed.
In the meantime, the RCMP is investigating.
