Time to ‘Pitch In’ in Squamish

Annual spring clean up events run until April 29
Pitch in Week

Spring cleaning is taking over the nation for Pitch-in Week, and ߣÄÌÉçÇøis no exception. Residents are invited to help pick up liter anywhere they see it in Squamish.

Some got a headstart by cleaning up Smoke Bluffs Park, the ߣÄÌÉçÇøEstuary and other popular trails. In a press release, the District of ߣÄÌÉçÇøsaid hundreds of residents have registered for Pitch-in Week, and more are welcome to join Canada’s largest environmental improvement campaign.

There are two options for residents to help. Community cleanup days target a street or area of a group’s choice. Registered groups get clean up equipment including gloves and bags, a tipping fee waiver for the landfill and support from the District Operations team.

The other option is the 20-Minute Makeover. Less of a time commitment for the busy folks who still want to lend a helping hand, participants also receive cleaning equipment and a waiver.
