撸奶社区theatre company wins big at North Shore festival

Between Shifts Theatre Society received several accolades at the recent Theatre BC North Shore Zone Festival of Plays.

The 撸奶社区theatre company won best overall production for The Gravitational Pull of Bernice Trimble at the festival, which ran Apr 29 to May 5.

鈥淭his touching, sometimes humorous play by Beth Graham, engaged audiences in the very topical issue of dealing with Alzheimer鈥檚 with loved ones, and highlighted the struggles families have in dealing with and responding to this terrible disease,鈥 said the society鈥檚 managing director Kathy Daniels, adding there wasn鈥檛 a dry eye in the house when the play was presented on May 4.

Best supporting actress 鈥 Claire Lindsay

Best sound 鈥 Mike Hewitt

Best lighting 鈥 Mike Hewitt

Best crew 鈥揟ea Stefiuk,听 Barb Stover, Janet Dundas,听 Chris French, Chris Manuel

Unsung hero award 鈥 Barb Stover

鈥淎djudicator Michael Armstrong was presented with many high-calibre productions and fine performances,鈥 reads a release from the festival, which announced the winners. 鈥淗owever, one production stood out above all others. The Gravitational Pull of Bernice Trimble.鈥

The awards night was held on Saturday, May 5, at Presentation House in North Vancouver.听

In July, Between Shifts Theatre Society will go on to compete provincially representing 撸奶社区and the North Shore Zone in Vernon.
