Former Montreal Alouettes CFL linebacker Shea Emery will be speaking at an upcoming festival on the link between brains and performance.

It is a chance to think outside the box, innovate and help a local charity.

The first annual 撸奶社区Technology, Arts & Film Festival (STAFF) will be a weeklong series of events 鈥渢hat make you question everything you thought,鈥 according to organizers.

鈥淭he festival was a last minute idea that came about to celebrate the unique and innovative way that 撸奶社区locals approach work and play,鈥 said Josh Visser one of the festival鈥檚 organizers in an email.

The festival runs from May 22 to 27 and will include a mix of talks, performances, and video showcases.

Twenty per cent of proceeds from the event will go to 撸奶社区Helping Hands, while all of the proceeds from the closing party on May 27, taking place at The Common with a DJ, bar and movie night, will go to the organization, which helps the homeless and hungry in the district.

Organizers of the festival say they hope to continue the event in future years with partial proceeds always going to a local charity.

Guest speakers include former Canadian football linebacker with the Montreal Alouettes, Shea Emery; Carlee Price an angel investor, Bradley Roulston, who implemented the Nelson Dollar, local Sal Meli of Euphoria amongst others.

鈥淭he week-long event will not shy away from controversy and challenge your views and thoughts. Events cover topics such exploring gender roles with money, creating a currency for Squamish, taking supplements to increase performance and work smarter,鈥 said Visser

The majority of the events take place at The Common on Cleveland Avenue.
