If you believe it is important to preserve Squamish's historical buildings and artifacts, this may be the event for you.
The is creating a strategic plan, with support from for Squamish鈥檚 heritage on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The all-day, free Heritage BC workshop is being held at the Executive Suites Hotel and Resort with food and beverages provided by Norman Rudy鈥檚.
The goal is to discuss the District of Squamish鈥檚 responsibility for preserving heritage, identify short and long-term goals for the 撸奶社区Historical Society 鈥 and local heritage stakeholders 鈥 and create a plan for moving forward.
听鈥淭he District of 撸奶社区is currently facing enormous change,鈥 said society president Bianca Peters, in a news release. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an exciting time to be living in Squamish, however, opportunities to document, showcase and preserve our local heritage are being lost on a weekly basis as a direct result of a lack of a District heritage policy in our community."
One of the ideas Peters has floated is to incorporate history into the 撸奶社区waterfront, as Nanaimo has.
The 撸奶社区Historical Society is paying for the workshop.
